Nay Pyi Taw November 17
The opening ceremony of the 60th Myanmar Gem Emporium was held at the Mani Yadana Jade Hall in Nay Pyi Taw this morning and Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing graced the ceremony.
Also present were member of the commission Prime Minister U Nyo Saw, Secretary of the Commission Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, members of the commission, union ministers and union-level officials, the chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, departmental officials, officials from the Myanmar Gems and Jewellery Entrepreneurs Association, invited guest and local and foreign gems entrepreneurs.
First, the Senior General and attendees watched the documentary video depicting Myanmar pearl production and sales, production of jewellery and preparations for the 60th Myanmar Gem Emporium.

Then, the Senior General and attendees inspected jade lots, gems lots and pearl lots displayed in the hall and the Senior General gave necessary instructions on reports of officials.
Afterward, the Senior General and party inspected the sale booths of finished jewellery of private gems entrepreneurs and jade lots displayed outside the hall.
The emporium will continue until 26 November and 5,064 lots of jade, 21 lots of refined jade, 13 lots of raw gems, 147 lots of jewelry and 489 lots of pearls will be on sale to local and foreign gems merchants through open bidding tender system in US dollars, Euros, Yuans, Thai Bahts and other foreign currencies that are accepted by the Central Bank of Myanmar.
