Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by members of his entourage, paid obeisance to the Kyaik Than Lan Pagoda in Mawlamyine, Mon State this evening.
First, the Senior General and party were welcomed by members of the pagoda board of trustees. Then, the Senior General walked round the pagoda clockwise and viewed sunset scenes.
Afterward, the Senior General paid obeisance to a Buddha image at the pagoda and offered flowers, water and lights before presenting cash donations to members of the pagoda board of trustees, who gave a certificate of honour to the Senior General.
Then, the Senior General and party proceeded to Strand Road in Mawlamyine and inspected stalls selling regional traditional food and other shops before cordially greeting shopkeepers and customers. Then, the Senior General gave instructions on construction of sites for sports and recreation on the riverside of the road, upgrading tasks of the road and the needs to take measures for cleanliness and pleasantness along the road to responsible officials.
