Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, along with accompanying entourage members, paid homage at the sacred Four Sacred Sites Shwehsandaw Pagoda in Pyay, Bago Region, this evening.
First, members of the pagoda board of trustees welcomed and greeted the Senior General, his wife, and the entourage members. Afterwards, they circumambulated the sacred pagoda clockwise, paid homage, and viewed the evening sunset scenery of Pyay.
Following that, the Senior General, his wife, and party paid homage to the sacred Buddha image within the pagoda, offering flowers and water.
Subsequently, inside the Shwehsandaw Pagoda Museum, a responsible official presented an explanation on the operational status of the Pagoda Digital Directory Online Website. The Senior General provided guidance, emphasizing that historical records of pagodas posted online must be solidly based, photographs should be of modern, high quality, and addressing other necessary requirements. Afterwards, they viewed the displayed Buddha images consecrated throughout successive eras and historical records arranged within the museum.
The Senior General signed the pagoda’s guest book and offered a cash donation for the all-around needs of the great pagoda. Members of the pagoda board of trustees respectfully accepted the donation and presented a commemorative certificate in return.
Similarly, this evening, the Senior General, his wife, and delegation members also visit-ed Strand Road in Pyay. At the temporary Khittaya Night Market on Strand Road, they observed the local food and drink stalls and shops open for business, and cordially greeted the vendors and the public who had come to dine.
The Senior General then gave necessary instructions to responsible officials regarding matters such as conditions requiring action for the cleanliness, tidiness, and beauty along the road, and the need for systematic vehicle parking areas.
