Based on Our Three Main National Causes, the Tatmadaw served the national duties well without hesitation under multiple governments and systems and various conditions during the time. In addition to engaging in battles under the said conditions, it could erect a significant historical milestone by playing the leading role in national politics while inevitably taking part in the political battles. It is the symbol of talent and courage the Tatmadaw had earned du-ring the course of history.

Tatmadaw’s history of independence struggle, its history of internal insurgency and its dutifulness stand witness to the fact that the source of the patriotic Tatmadaw was based on patriotism. Moreover, the virtues of the Tatmadaw as a strong force endowed with three capabilities can also be vividly seen.

Hence, today’s Tatmadaw members and families must respect and value the virtues of the Tatmadaw. In all seriousness, they all must do their job fearlessly and dutifully, while understanding the pricelessness of the Independence and the entire scope of the national defence duties.

The best guarantee for the perpetuation of national independence and sovereignty is the building and possession of a highly efficient defence force. At present, global countries are in a race to expand their military and test and own sophisticated weapons. The global stage is full of deteriorations in the balance of power, hegemonism and rivalry and attempts to create proxies. Hence, the Tatmadaw is being turned into a Standard Army, which is strong, efficient and patriotic and has the fighting power and prowess to be able to stand shoulder to shoulder with its global counterparts, launch conventional wars and prevent itself from exploitation.

It is common knowledge that Tatmadaw has implemented the policies and objectives of the State throughout the successive eras. It is still observing and implementing the fourth objective of the National Defence and Security Council “Conduct successful multi-party democracy general elections and implement the public-aspired multi-party democratic system with the participation of the people”. For the firmness of the people-aspired democracy, the entire people must participate in the task for the success of the election and the Tatmadaw must also join hands with the people.

The nation successfully held the phase 1 of the multi-party democracy general election on 28 December 2025, to advance along a genuine and disciplined multi-party democracy in accord with the public aspiration. The phase 2 and 3 of the election will be held this month. The success is the proof of Tatmadaw’s serious consideration of the nation and people, and ability to keep its promises. More-over, it is the result of the dutifulness of every soldier at every rank. Hence, the State and Tatmadaw will always honor and recognize this achievement.

Honorary titles are confer-red on the persons who made sacrifices in dutifully shouldering the task that is hard for the normal people at the risk of life, on Independence Day every year. At this ceremony gallantry medals will be presented to 51 persons in accord with the fine traditions.

They won the honorary medals because of their selfless efforts and loyalty for the nation and race. The State and Tatmadaw are making necessary arrangements for ensuring a worry-free future for families of soldiers and are ready to continue them for turning out good soldiers with sacrificing spirit. Hence, soldiers and families must maintain the noble qualities of the Tatmadaw and raise the image of the Tatmadaw through continuous efforts.

They will always be remembered as heroes and the nation’s good sons. All the soldiers, whether they won medals or not, are recognized for their dutiful services at their assigned place. They must relay the value and essence of independence, virtues of gallant soldiers, and the proud historical times of Myanmar to the future generations to turn out patriotic youths with strong national fervour.
