As immediate neighbours with shared cultural and religious heritage, Thailand and Myanmar have enjoyed long-standing amicable bonds of friendship built on mutual trust, mutual respect and shared interest, as well as strong people-to-people ties.
I would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm Thailand’s unwavering determination to continue working closely with Myanmar to further advance our bilateral relations for the mutual benefit of our two countries and our peoples. Thailand always stands ready to support Myanmar on its path to realising lasting peace and national reconciliation.
