Parade of 81st Anniversary Armed Forces Day held; Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray  Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing delivers address

The Parade of the 81st Anniversary Armed Forces Day took place at Nay Pyi Taw military parade ground this evening with an address by Chairman of the State Security and Peace Com-mission Commander-in-Chief of  Defence  Services Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing.

Officers and other ranks of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air), female parade company of the Tatmadaw (Army), members of Myanmar Police Force and female parade company of MPF in columns which would participate in the parade ceremony took  positions at the Thittat parade ground and participated in it as per the parade agenda.

The Central Military Band took the designated position in the parade ground and the mechanized column led by column commander Brig-Gen Wai Lin Aung, mechanized company representing the Directorate of Artillery, mechanized company representing the Directorate of Missiles, mechanized company   representing  the Office of  the Chief of Air Defence Forces, mechanized company representing the Directorate of  Tanks, mechanized company representing the Directorate of Military Engineers, mechanized company representing the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Navy) and the Bagpipe Band.

Female parade company of special operations of Tatmadaw (Army) led by Company Commander Capt Daw Hnin Nu Shein and parade company of special operations of Tatmadaw (Navy) led by Company Commander Maj Win Thu Tun took positions at the parade ground.

Then, the flag bearers led by Parade Commander Maj-Gen Ye Yint Win, followed by Anawyahtar Column led by Column Commander Brig-Gen Kyaw Mya Win, comprising the guard of honour, parade companies representing the Directorate of Military Engineers, Office of the Chief of Air Defence Forces, Directorate of  Signals,  Northern Command, Central Command, Coastal Region Command, Western Command, Kyansittha  column  led by  Column Commander Brig-Gen Aung Ko Naing, comprising guard of honour, parade columns representing Directorate of Tanks, Office of Chief of Military Equipment Production, Directorate of Ordnance, North-East Command, Triangle Region Command,  Yangon  Command, North-West Command, Bayintnaung Column led by Column Commander Brig-Gen Myo Hein, comprising guard of honour,  parade  companies of Office of Commander-in- Chief (Navy), Office of Commander-in- Chief (Navy) (female technician company 1), Office of Commander-in- Chief (Navy) (female technician company 2),Office of Commander-in- Chief (Navy) (company 1, 2, 3 and 4), Aung  Zeya  column  led  by Column Commander Brig-Gen Zaw Min Htet, comprising guard of honour, parade companies representing Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army) (female parade company), Office of Commander-in- Chief (Army)(female company 1),Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army)(female company 2),Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army)  (female technician company 1), Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army)(female technician company 2), Office of Commander-in- Chief (Army) (female technician company 3),Office of Commander-in- Chief (Army) (female technician company 4), Hsinbyushin column led by Column  Commander  Brig-Gen Zaw Zaw Tun comprising guard of honour, parade companies representing Office of Commander- in-Chief (Air),Office of Commander-in-Chief (Air)(female technician company 1 and 2),Office of Commander- in-Chief (Air)(company 1,2,3 and 4), Bandoola column led by Column Commander Brig-Gen Phay Thet Tun, comprising guard of honour, airborne parade company, parade companies representing Directorate of Artillery, Directorate of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Eastern Command, South-East Command, Western Command and Central Command, Aung San column led by  column commander Police Brigadier General Win Zaw Naing comprising guard of honour, parade company representing Myanmar Police Force(Women), the parade companies (1) and (2) representing MPF (Women),and the parade companies (1), (2), (3) and (4) of MPF, together with the military bands marched towards the parade ground, according to the agenda.

During the parade, wife of the Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), wife of the member of the commission Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air), wife of the Commander-in-Chief (Navy), wife of the Commander-in-Chief (Air), wives of the senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief garlanded personnel in the columns.

Officers, other ranks and families of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), the Nay Pyi Taw Command and military stations, members and families of Myanmar Police Force, public service personnel from relevant ministries, artistes from film and music arenas, and people lined the entire route, cheering loudly to welcome the military columns with garlands. Tatmadaw members and MPF members marched along their route to the parade ground by singing military songs with national spirit.

The parade to mark the 81st Anniversary of Armed Forces Day was attended by Commis-sion Secretary Commander-in-Chief (Army) General Zeya Kyaw Htin Sithu Ye Win Oo, Commission member Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Zeya Kyaw Htin Tharay Sithu Kyaw Swa Lin, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Zeya Kyaw Htin Htein Win, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Zeya Kyaw Htin Sithu Tun Aung, commission members, Union-level dignita-ries, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, families of the Thirty-Comrades, retired senior officers of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air), Independence Mawgun Award winners, advisors, deputy ministers, retired Tatmadaw member ambassdors, military attaches from the foreign Military Attaches’Offices and officials, representatives of ethnic armed organizations which had signed the Nationwide Cease-fire Agreement (NCA), chairmen and officials of political parties, families and relatives of Aung San Thuriya title winners, officers, Tatmadaw families and relatives of those who secured Thiha Thura title, Thura title, Tatmadaw gallantry title and gallantry medals, members of Myanmar War Veterans Organization, transformed people’s militia, original people’s militia, the Border Guard Central Advisory Board members, officials from Myanmar Police Force, Myanmar Fire Brigade and Myanmar Red Cross Society, officials and staff from ministries, chairmen and officials from organizations, artistes who participated in the drama honouring the Armed Forces Day, winners in the Armed Forces Day commemorative military songs, marching songs, poems, short story and novel contests, well-wishers, members of University Training Corps, guests, officers, other ranks, families, departmental personnel, and local and foreign media.

The Senior General arrived at the Parade Ground and took the position on the dais. Tatmadaw members and MPF members of military columns saluted the Senior General. At that time, the Artillery Guard of Honour also performed 19 salutes during the military parade to pay tribute.

When the Senior General arrived at the parade ground, a MiG-29 multirole fighter jet flew directly overhead, releasing flares while performing a low-altitude fly past.

The Senior General, Tatmadaw members and MPF members from parade columns saluted the State flag and fallen Tatmadaw members and took four oaths.

Tatmadaw members and MPF members from the parade columns led by Parade Commander Maj-Gen Ye Yint Win saluted the Senior General and left the parade ground.

Meanwhile, one MTX-1A aircraft and two PT-6s of the Tatmadaw (Air) saluted the Senior General in the composite formation from the direct dimension of the view desk, two Mi-17 helicopters in the trail formation from the left side of the view desk to the right one, two Mi-2M helicopters in the trail formation from the left to the right of the view desk, two H-125 helicopters in the trail formation from the left to the right wing of the desk, two Bell-206 helicopters in the trail formation from the left to the right wing of the desk, two Euro copters in the tail formation from the left to the right wing of the desk, two H-125 helicopters from the 45 degree left of the desk in the echelon formation for the second time, two Bell-206 helicopters in the echelon formation for the second time, two Euro copters  from the 45 degree right of the desk in the echelon formation for the second time, one BEECH 1900D cargo plane from the 45 degree left of the desk, one BEECH 1900D from the  from the 45 degree right of the desk, one ATR 72 cargo plane in the direct dimension of the desk, two K-8W fighers from the 45 degree right of the desk in the echelon formation from the right of the desk, three Su-30 SME heavy fighters in the arrow head formation from the 45 degree left of the desk, three Su-30 SME heavy fighters from the west to the east of the desk, releasing flares in their skill demonstrations.

The Senior General cordially greeted the guests who attended the parade and left the parade ground. The parade of the 81st Anniversary of Armed Forces Day 2026 concluded successfully.

The Parade Ground in Nay Pyi Taw is prominently adorned with bronze statues of the three kings who established the First, Second, and Third Myanmar Empires, alongside displays of the Armed Forces Day Torch, the 81st Armed Forces Day commemorative medal, and flags representing the Burma Independence Army, Burma Defence Army, and the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy, and Air), the Office of the Director General of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), as well as those of regional commands, division headquarters, and battalions, are also on display. The parade route has been elaborately decorated with colorful lighting, including truss beams, light boxes, lighting poles, and LED strip lights at the entrance. Along the roadside, raindrop lights, up lights, LED program strips, and banners honoring military units have been installed. The national flag and Tatmadaw (Army, Navy, and Air) flags are illuminated with lighting effects, while trees near the salute stage are decorated with handmade lights. The two stars on the Tatmadaw flag beneath the statues of the Three Kings are highlighted with LED strips. Additional flag light boxes and LED displays line the route to be used by the Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services, Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing.

In addition, in honor of the 81st Armed Forces Day, large posters depicting the activities of the Tatmadaw personnel who keep their patriotic spirit alive and their blood and spirit alive have been erected at the intersection of the Yangon-Mandalay Highway and Pinlaung Road. LED signboards displaying military slogans in both Myanmar and English are also installed along the route leading to the parade ground.
