Senior General Min Aung Hlaing receives Major General Pasith Thiengtham, Deputy Chief of General Staff Department of Lao People’s Armed Forces

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received Major General Pasith Thiengtham, Deputy Chief of General Staff Department of Lao People’s Armed Forces at the Parlour of Zeyathiri Beikman, here, this morning.

Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in- Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) to Laos Col Kyaw Kyaw Min. The Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Lao People’s Armed Forces was accompanied by Lao Military Attaché to Myanmar Col. Bounmyvieng Viengnhouttasat and officials.

At the meeting, they discussed success of the goodwill visit of the Deputy Chief of General Staff Department of Lao People’s Armed Forces to Myanmar, friendly cooperation between Lao and Myanmar armed forces, Myanmar’s standing on friendly relations with neighbouring countries as well as global countries in line with the five principles of peaceful coexistence without totally allowing any organizations based on territory of Myanmar and any acts harming interest, peace and stability of neighbouring countries, exchange of goodwill visits of military leaders, cooperation in border security of both countries and eradication of narcotic drugs including security of Mekong River, exchange of information for anti-terrorism, invitation to lecturer Buddhist monks from Myanmar to Laos in order to flourish Theravada Buddhism through exchange of visits of members of the Sangha, prospects for cooperation in religious affairs, exchange of visits of military cultural troupes, medical squads, sports contingents and lower level goodwill delegations, and exchange of naval and air force technologies.

After the meeting, the Senior General and the Deputy Chief of General Staff Department of Lao People’s Armed Forces posed for documentary photo after exchanging emblems.
