Senior General Min Aung Hlaing pays homage to Shwephonepwint, Culamuni pagodas in Taunggyi

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San and wife, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw and wife, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), Commander of Eastern Command Maj-Gen Lin Aung and officials, paid homage to Shwephonepwint and Culamuni pagodas in Taunggyi this evening. 

First, the Senior General and wife together with members arrived at Shwephonepwint Pagoda where they were welcomed by Patron of the Pagoda Board of Trustees U Aung Ko Win and members. The Senior General and wife paid homage to the Buddha image at the pagoda and offered flowers, water and oil lights. Then, they went round the pagoda clockwise. 

The Senior General presented cash donated by families of the Defence Services (Army, Navy and Air) to the Pagoda Board of Trustees. After posing for documentary photo together with members of the Pagoda Board of Trustees, the Senior General signed the visitors’ book. 

The Senior General and wife and party proceeded to Culamuni Pagoda. After paying homage to the Buddha image of the pagoda, they offered flowers, water and oil lights. Then, they went round the pagoda clock-wise. The Senior General signed the visitors’ book after presenting cash donated by families of the Defence Services (Army, Navy and Air) to the Pagoda Board of Trustees and had documentary photo taken together with members of the Pagoda Board of Trustees.
