Families of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air), well-wishers donate rice, edible oil, salt, gram, cash to Christian and Islamic religious organizations in Pyinmana Township of Nay Pyi Taw

Any religion mentions enjoying good benefit only from donations. About six percent of population in Myanmar is Christians and more than four percent, Islamists.Many persons who believe in Christianity and Islam are from the east, west, south and north regions of Myanmar.The Constitution recognizes Buddhism as the region in which the majority of population of the country believes.Likewise, the Constitution recognizes Christianity, Islam,Hinduism and animism,said Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing who paid visits to Saint Michael Catholic Church and Ukyay Jamay Mosque in Pyinmana Township of Nay Pyi Taw this afternoon to present rice, edible oil, salt,gram and cash for Christian religious organizations and Islamic religious organizations.

Also present at the ceremonies together with the Senior General were his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, Union Minister Lt-Gen Kyaw Swe and wife, and Union Minister Lt-Gen Sein Win and wife,Chief of the General Staff(Army, Navy and Air) General Mya Tun Oo and wife, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San and wife, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command and wife and well-wishers.

With regard to donations,the Senior General said he arrived there to make donations so as to contribute towards carrying out of religious affairs.Rice, edible oil, salt, gram and cash donations of families of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) and well-wishers have been held at monasteries,nunneries and homes for the aged during the Buddhist lent yearly since 1996. This year,11 Christian churches, Islam Arabi High School and 13 mosques are included on the list of donations in Pyinmana Township. It is important that all ethnics and citizens should make collaborative efforts for doing good deeds in unison to ensure peace, tranquility and development of the nation through peaceful ways.

At Saint Michael Catholic Church, the Senior General presented rice, edible oil,salt, gram and cash donated by families of Tatmadaw(Army, Navy and Air) and well-wishers for Christian religious organizations through Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Churches Council Rev Dr U Tin Maung Aye and the Vice-Senior General, to Bishop of Saint Michael Catholic Church Father U Soe Lin Aung.

At Ukyay Jamay Mosque,the Senior General presented donations for Islamic organizations through Secretary of Ukyay Arabi High School Mawlawi U Hsan Win and party and the Vice-Senior General, to Chairman of Pyinmana Township Olama Religious Professionals Organization Al-Hajj Mawlana Hafaz U Zaw Myat and party.

Rev Dr U Tin Maung Aye,on behalf of Christian religious organizations, and Principal of Islamic Arabi High School Al-Hajj Mawlana Hafaz U Tun Myint, on behalf of Islamic religious organizations,spoke words of thanks and prayed. After the meetings,the Senior General and party cordially greeted religious leaders and guests.

The donations by families of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) and well-wishers in Pyinmana Township for Christian and Islamic religious organizations totalled Ks-3 million, 60 bags of rice, five bags of gram, three bags of salt and 30 viss of edible oil.
