Tatmadaw releases more than 7.8 million fish of different species for the first time in 2019

With the purpose of conserving natural environment and ecosystems, increasing fish resources in the meat and fish sector and conserving fish species, Tatmadaw has been putting fish species into water bodies since 2011. The ceremony to put fish species into Yezin Dam was held for the first time in 2019 in Zeyathiri Township in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, attended by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, who put fish species.


Present on the occasion were Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services,Commander-in-Chief(Army), and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, Union Minister Lt-Gen Sein Win, Union Minister Lt-Gen Ye Aung and wife, General Mya Tun Oo,Chief of the General Staff (Army,Navy and Air) and wife,the Commander-in- Chief (Navy)and wife, the Commander-in-Chief (Air) and wife, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives,the Nay Pyi Taw Command Commander and wife, and the officers, other ranks and their families of respective offices of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air).

The officers, other ranks and their families of the Tatmadaw(Army, Navy and Air) led by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, put 150,000 carps into Yezin Dam. Then, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and party viewed the officers,other ranks and their families putting fish species into the dam.

Yezin Dam can store 73,000 acre feet of water, supplying irrigation water to about 30,000 acres of Yezin Village and its nearby villages every year and drinking water to local people. It is also a dam contributing toward natural environment and ecosystem conservation. Families of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief have been putting fish species into Yezin Dam since 2011 with the aim of boosting fish resources in the dam and conserving fish species.A total of 635,700 fish of different species have been put into the dam until now.

Similarly, ceremonies of putting fish of different species were held in respective commands. The officers,other ranks and their families put fish of different species at the designated places.500,000 fish of different species were collectively put into water bodies in Nay Pyi Taw Command, 500,000 in Northern Command, 500,000 in North-East Command,616,000 in Eastern Command,500,000 in Central-East Command, 600,000 in Triangle Region Command, 500,500 in South-East Command,720,000 in Coastal Region Command, 502,000 in Yangon Command, 500,000 in South-West Command, 500,000 in Western Command, 495,000 in North-West Command,539,000 in Central Command,and 733,000 in Southern Command. Today, the entire Tatmadaw managed to put 7,855,500 fish of different species. Each military command will release one million fish of different species this year.
