Senior General Min Aung Hlaing receives All Myanmar Tamil Hindu Foundation (Central)

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation led by All Myanmar Tamil Hindu Foundation (Central) chairman U Thein Lwin, at the parlour of Zeya Thiri Beikman in Yangon this afternoon.

Also present at the call together with the Senior General were Commander-in-Chief(Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw, senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the commander of Yangon Command, the chairman of All Myanmar Tamil Hindu Foundation (Central) and members.

Chairman U Thein Lwin and U Hsan Min Naing of All Myanmar Tamil Hindu Foundation (Central) explained the history,objectives and activities of the foundation.

The Senior General said Myanmar is a multi-ethnic Union with migrant population. However, any person,if they are living in Myanmar,should adopt Myanmar Spirit and work together for betterment of the country. He expressed his support for the foundation as it is contributing a great deal in education, religious affairs and transportation sectors to betterment of the country. There is a need to serve the country based on intellect and expertise. Tatmadaw serves the country by means of military service. The Senior General compared the Tatmadaw to fence of the country, saying only when the fence is well-built, the country will be secure and peaceful. Only when the country is secure and peaceful, will citizens be able to enjoy secure livelihoods. Besides peace,economic development is crucial for development of the country. To achieve economic growth, there is a need to turn out intellectuals and intelligentsia. The Senior General said he hopes Hindu people would continue to retain their loyalty to the country, having in Myanmar for many decades. All the people living in Myanmar such as ethnic people,migrants, and foreigners have to live in harmony, and preserve their own race and religion. It is however important that they preserve their own race and religion sensibly and are not extreme racially or religiously. The Senior General warned about the risk of instability incited by political and religious conflicts. The most important thing is everyone should work with unity for betterment of the country they are living, he stressed.

The Senior General then presented gifts to the chairman and members of All Myanmar Tamil Hindu Foundation and posed for documentary photo.
