Families of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) donate supplies for prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19 and alms to Insein Ywama Pariyatti Learning Centre

A ceremony to donate supplies for prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19 and alms by families of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) and offertories of retired senior military officers of the 19th Intake of  Defence Services Academy to mark the 43rd anniversary of graduation  for members of the Sangha and student monks residing at Insein Ywama Pariyatti Learning Centre in Insein Township of Yangon Region took place at the venue this morning.

The ceremony was graced by members of the Sangha led by Agga Maha Pandita State Ovadacariya Shwedagon Pagoda Board of Trustees’ Ovadacariya Bhaddanta Tilokabhivamsa (venerable Ywama Sayadaw), Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), the commander of Yangon Command and retired senior military officers from the 19th Intake of Defence Services Academy.

First, the ceremony was opened with three-time recitation of Namo Tassa. The congregation took the Five Precepts from venerable Ywama Sayadaw and listened to Parittas recited by members of the Sangha.

The Senior General offered supplies for prevention, control and treatment of  COVID-19, offerings  and cash for nine prerequisites  donated by families of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) and alms and cash for nine prerequisites donated by retired senior military officers from the 19th Intake of Defence  Services Academy in commemo-ration of the 43rd anniversary of graduation to venerable Insein Ywama Sayadaw. Then, senior military officers and retired senior military officers donated alms to members of the Sangha respectively.

The Senior General and party listened to a sermon delivered by venerable Insein Ywama  Sayadaw and shared merits gained.

After the ceremony, the Senior General and party offered meals to members of the Sangha led by venerable Insein Ywama Sayadaw.

In today’s donations, families of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) offered supplies for prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19 —20,000 surgical masks, 1,000 KN-95 masks, 500 face shields, 2,000 examination gloves, 100 500ml bottles of hand gel, 200 500ml hand sanitizer, 200 bags of rice, 100 viss of edible oil and 1,000 viss of gram and Ks-50 million for nine prerequisites—for members of the Sangha and student monks from Insein Ywama Pariyatti Learning Centre.

In commemoration of the 43rd anniversary of graduation of the retired senior military officers from the 19th Intake of Defence Services Academy, 91 bags of rice, 190 viss of edible oil, 190 viss of gram, 212 blankets and Ks-4.3 million for nine prerequisites were also donated to the centre.
