SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing meets Rector of Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) in Vladivostok of Russian Federation

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing held a meeting with Rector of Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) Mr.

Boris Nikolaevich Korobets at the university in Vladivostok of the Russian Federation this afternoon.

Also present at the meeting were Council Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Union ministers, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, deputy ministers, Myanmar Ambassador to Russian U Lwin Oo and Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) Brig-Gen Moe Kyaw. The Rector of FEFU was accompanied by Pro-Rector Mr. Evgeny E. VLASOV and officials from relevant departments of the university.

At the meeting, both sides exchanged views on functions of the university, attending of scholarship students from global countries, warm welcome to trainees from Myanmar to attend the university, reviews of the rector over the discussions of the Senior General with the title of “Myanmar’s Crucial Role in Food Security and Better Opportunities for Investment”, at the plenary session of the 7th Eastern Economic Forum-2022 and taking a notice of the importance of the food security sector, conducting advanced studies by Myanmar trainees at many universities in the western part of Russia, plans of Myanmar to send its trainees to pursue postgraduate medical subjects at FEFU, prospects of improving cooperation in education sector in enhancing bilateral relations of both countries and economic cooperation, arrangement of the university for Myanmar trainees, and a plan to sign an agreement between FEFU and Myanmar’s University of Foreign Languages in Yangon.

After the meeting, the Senior General and the rector exchanged commemorative gifts.

The FEFU established in 1899 is now 123 years old institution which gives regional and international subjects, economic, management, educational, engineering, humanitarian, law, medical and environmental conservation subjects. The university under the Education and Science Servant Department of the Russian Federation admits some 41,000 students. During the visit of the Senior General, the meeting focused on cooperation between universities in academic subjects and cooperation in education promotion including the situation to send Myanmar’s medical scholarship students to the university.
