Discharge assigned duties with pleasure and serve regional and unit’s interest

Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met officers, other ranks and families of local naval base in Sittaw Station, Western Command HQ this afternoon.

Also present together with the Senior General were his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Moe Aung and wife, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung and wife, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, Western Command Commander Maj-Gen Htin Latt Oo and officials.

Political developments In his speech, the Senior General said officers, other ranks and families should have the knowledge of Tatmadaw’s national political leadership role and the State’s duties they are shouldering. He then explained in detail Tatmadaw’s leadership role in installing multiparty democracy in accord with the people’s wish, application of fraudulent methods due to people’s dwindling trust in the elected second-term democracy government caused by weakness in administration and management although there were political, social and economic developments during the terms of democracy governments, vote rigging in 2020 multiparty general election, Tatmadaw’s assumption of State responsibilities after declaring state of emergency for the failure to address vote rigging problem, measures to take lessons from the previous flawed election, systemic work procedures including field survey for correctness of voter lists in the coming election, efforts to hold a free and fair election, governments’ ongoing efforts for all round development of political and economic sectors, for peace restoration, and for multiple development as only unceasing perseverance ensures progress for a single person or a country.

Capability and moral important for soldiers as man matters most The Tatmadaw’s principal duty is national defence, and Tatmadaw (Army), Tatmadaw (Navy) and Tatmadaw (Air), must guard the land, seas and air of the country with collective force. The duty of Tatmadaw (Navy) is to protect the country’s territorial waters. Every individual soldier must be dutiful every day in ensuring safety of surface and underwater territorial seas and enforcing the rule of law. In this world, man matters most as his involvement is needed in every sector and success can be secured only through his efforts.

Degree of individual talent is important. Competency and morale of servicemen is vital for the betterment of a military unity.

Uniqueness of the Kyaukphyu region is its land that is touching nthe sea. Hence local units have to protect the land and sea. They must be dutiful in properly serving the Union’s security duties.

The price is high whenever there is the neglect of duty even by an individual. Hence, soldiers should be dutiful and loyal to the country, Tatmadaw and people.

Properly shape future nation through joint efforts of government, Tatmadaw and people Tatmadaw joined hands with the people in restoring independence and has been shouldering its duties well to protect the Union while placing in force Our Three Main National Causes. With Union spirit in mind, it has exercised restraint to the most possible degree in settling ethnic armed conflicts that broke out due to political and ideological disagreements.

Officers, other ranks and families should understand the country’s objective conditions and should always have the military alertness and awareness and security outlook. Government, Tatmadaw and people will have to jointly shape a better future for the country. Soldiers must serve their assigned duties with pleasure. Their accomplishments will be recognized if they profoundly discharge their duties till success is achieved.

They must also service the interest of their units and the areas they are posted.

As the weather in Kyaukphyu is severe, they must have health awareness and must take preparatory measures to face unexpected natural disasters. As it is a remote place, they must establish and successfully run unit-own and manageable farming as a source of extra food supply.

Regarding education, officers and other ranks and their families read books that will be helpful to the development of their life, and it is necessary for not only self improvement but for their children’s. Doing so will be helpful to their improvement in life. They are to be good parents for the improvement of their children’s education.

Foodstuffs and cash awards presented Then, the Senior General presented foodstuff for officers, other ranks and their families to the commander of local naval base and his wife cash donation for the station maternal and child welfare association to the commander’s wife.

Afterwards, the Senior General and party cordially greeted officers, other ranks and their families and fulfilled their needs.

Later, the Senior General and party took a tour of the naval command.
