Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, the wife of the Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is accompanying him on his visit to the Russian Fede-ration, met and held discus-sions today with Mrs. Valentina Matvienko, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation , at the Federation Council office in the morning (local time).
First, the Speaker of the Federation Council warmly welcomed and greeted Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and her delegation. Following this, the wife of the Senior General signed the guestbook.
Afterwards, the Speaker of the Federation Council introduced the Russian officials in attendance, while Daw Kyu Kyu Hla introduced the members of the Myanmar delegation.
Following this, the meeting was held in the reception hall, where the Speaker of the Fe-deration Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation expressed deep sorrow over the damage and losses caused by the major earthquake in Mandalay, Myanmar. She stated that the Russian Fede-ration would provide necessary assistance in reconstruction efforts. She also mentioned that the Russian Federation has women’s welfare programs and holds the Eurasian Women’s Forum every three years. The forum addresses challenges faced by women and children, and she expressed hope that Myanmar could also participate in such women-focused initia-tives in the future.
In response, the wife of the Senior General expressed profound gratitude for the aid and support extended by the Russian Federation and the international community following the earthquake disaster in Myanmar. She emphasized that Russia’s multifaceted assistance has been greatly bene-ficial to Myanmar and pledged to further strengthen collaborative efforts.
Afterwards, the wife of the Senior General and the Spea-ker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation held a cordial discussion on potential cooperation between the two countries in the fields of educa-tion and economy.
At the end of the meeting, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and the Spea-ker of the Federation Council exchanged commemorative gifts and posed for a group photo with attendees.
