Chairman of the State Admini-stration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing who is currently in Moscow to attend the military parade to mark the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945 to be held in the Russian Federation held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, at Ritz Carlton Hotel this evening.
Also present at the meeting were Council Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and Myanmar Ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan U Thit Linn Ohn. The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was accompanied by officials.
At the meeting, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan said that he expressed his deep sorrow with the government and people of Myanmar for the losses and damages sustained due to the major earthquake that occurred in Mandalay of Myanmar. He said he also believes that, through joint efforts between the government and the people, recovery and reconstruction efforts will be carr-ied out effectively and that the country will be able to overcome this difficult time.
In his response, the Senior General said that it has now been 25 years since diplomatic relations were established bet-ween Myanmar and Kazakhstan. The Ambassador of Myan-mar to Kazakhstan has presen-ted the letter of Credentials to His Excellency of Kazakhstan in April 2025. In response to the major Mandalay earthquake that occurred in Myanmar, the Senior General highlighted that he deeply appreciate a letter of condolence sent by the His Excellency of Kazakhstan expressing his sympathy for the loss of lives and property, and offering support for Myanmar. Myanmar, for its part, will continue to enhance cooperation with Kazakhstan.
