Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission of the Re-public of the Union of Myanmar, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation led by Chairman of Vietnam-Myanmar Friendship Association Mr. Chu Cong Phung this morning.
Also present at the call together with the Senior General were SSPC Secretary Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, Union Minister for Transport and Communication U Mya Tun Oo, and Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs U Ko Ko Kyaw. The Vietnam-Myanmar Friendship Association Chair was accompanied by members of the delegation.
At the call, both sides cordially discussed promotion of friendship and cooperation between Myanmar and Vietnam, assistance provided by Vietnam in the aftermath of the Mandalay earthquake, Myanmar’s political developments, preparations for a free and fair election and invitation of international observers, promotion of cooperation in agricultural, production and tourism businesses, and enhancement of trade and investment between the two countries.
After the call, the Senior General and the Vietnamese guest exchanged commemorative gifts and posed for documentary photos.
