Senior General Min Aung Hlaing receives Special Envoy of Japanese Government for National Reconciliation in Myanmar

Nay Pyi Taw, July 11

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received Mr. Yohei SASAKAWA, Special Envoy of the Government of Japan for National Reconciliation in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Chairman of Nippon Foundation and Sasakawa Foundation at the parlour of Bayintnaung villa here this evening.

Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were Lt-Gen Soe Htut and senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army). Mr. Yohei SASAKAWA was accompanied by Mr. Tatsuki NAKAJIMA, acting Chief of Mission, Embassy of Japan, and officials.

At the call, views were exchanged cordially on the holding of the Union Peace Conference-21st Century Panglong (third meeting), efforts to sign the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement-NCA, Japanese assistance for internal peace in Myanmar, mutual exchange of experiences in humanitarian and natural disaster relief issues and the endeavours of the government and the Tatmadaw to restore internal peace.
